THINGS TO DO ON YOUR NEXT TRIP TO MATA VAISHNO DEVI, KATRA

Maa Vaishno Devi Temple is a pilgrimage site and is one of the Shakti Peeths of Mata Rani. Apart from the main shrine of mata rani, there are few other temples worth visiting if you have your trip planned to the one of the most spiritual and blissful pilgrimage sites in India.

Charan Paduka Temple: It is beleived that when Maa Vaishno Devi was on her way to the hill top, she rested here and left her footprints here. Thats why the name “Charan Paduka Mandir”. Just when you have completed almost about 4 kms in the trek to the mata Vaishnodevi temple, this temple will come on your way.

Adhkwari Temple: Adhkwari marks the mid point of the trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. Thats why its called the Adhkwari Temple. Also, this is the place where Maa Vaishnodevi meditated for 9 months and Shri Hanuman Ji served her as her gatekeeper so that nobody disturbs Mata Vaishnodevi in her meditation

Bhaironath Temple: Bhaironath is a devil ideally, but Maa Vaishnodevi gave Bhaironath a blessing that any pilgrim who visits Mata Vaishnodevi temple, his/ her pilgrimage to the temple is incomplete without visiting the Bhaironath Temple. This temple is situated at a distance of 2 kms from the Mata Vaishnodevi temple.

Shivkhori: This place is adobe to Lord Shiva. It is beleived that this temple is as sacred as the Amarnath Temple. Those who are unable to visit the Amarnath Temple can surely consider going to this place. Also, this temple is open all the year round unline the Amarnath Temple which opens a very short span of time in a year. Going to this temple can be like a day trip. So you need just one day extra in your trip if you wish to visit this temple as well.

Patnitop: If you can add 2 days more to your trip then visiting this small but beautiful hill station in your itinerary. After visiting the holy site of Mata Vaishnodevi, you can go to Patnitop which is a journey of only 3 hours. You can relax and enjoy the beautiful places that this cute and small hill station has to offer. Especially, during the winter season, this place is like a winter wonderland. The hill tops, lakes and tall pine trees are a treat to watch all the year round.
