Things to carry for your next Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Trip

Although, there are several facilities provided by the government to make the Maa Vaishnodevi Pilgrimage smooth and easy. The things that you should carry depend one the season you are going in

  • Summer season: March to June
  • Rainy season: July to August
  • Autumn season: September to November
  • Winter season: December to February



Here are some things that you should consider packing before going to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Temple, Katra

  • A pair of comfortable shoes is a must for all seasons as you will have to trek to the Maa Vaishnodevi Temple
  • Water bottle: Keeping yourself hydrated specially in hills is necessary. Although you can find a lot oh shops while trekking but its better to carry your own water bottle to keep the environment clean and pollution free
  • Heavy woollen clothes are recommended for the winter season. There are high chances of snowfall from 25th December to 15th January as temperature falls below zero degrees during this time every year. So, woollen clothes, puffer jackets, hand gloves, caps, socks and anything else that keeps you safe from cold is a must.
  • Light woollen clothes are recommended for the autumn season. The weather is pleasant. The sun shines bright during the day, but you can find the weather slightly chilly by the evening.
  • For people who have plans to stay at the bhavan for a night, you may not need carry any blankets with you as these are easily available at no extra cost. In Rooms, even heaters are provided for the pilgrims.
  • Umbrella and Raincoat: This should be a must thing in your bag if you are traveling in the rainy season.
